This is Okinawa for you. Or more accurately, Naha. It really is total opposite from the modern Tokyo. But nonetheless, the beauty of this place will be shown to you in posts to come.
Lunch was Pablo's cheesecake from Tokyo! They have a store in Kokusai-dori too. I feel so lame carrying it all the way from Tokyo.
Dayum.
Day 2
Bound for Okinawa today. T2 and T3 is connected. T3 seems like the one for domestic flights. It's just 600m of walk from T2, otherwise there's a shuttle available too! In Japan, food and drinks can be brought on plane. WHAT. How awesome can you be Japan. If I knew, I would have not rushed through my soba this morning *cries* 3hrs of flight to Okinawa with Jetstar!
Oh yes, their fruit infused water taste really nice! And then there was this really nice guy with the man purse helped me get my hat from the airplane cabin baggage area when he saw me struggling! #whysonicejapan *cries*
Bought the one day pass (24hrs) and headed to my hostel! Short walk from Miebashi station. Usually I don't take photos of hostels cause they are not that nice as compared to hotels (obviously) The one that I stayed at was Okinawa Sora House. Very cheap (~S$23/night), decent and surprisingly I had awesome sleep there.
After which, headed to Shuri Castle! The castle itself is underwhelming to be honest. But it has an air conditioned mini "museum" and the toilet there is SUPER CLEAN! it's like the cleaner is there 24/7 ya know. So far Okinawa hasn't been as clean as Tokyo. So, I'm impressed by this! If you got the one day pass, there's a discount on the entrance ticket. Paid only 660yen!
Dinner was at conbini with somen and cheese senbei! It's so delicious my goodness.
In Okinawa, renting a car is pretty much highly recommended. But because I don't drive. The main city Naha is generally train-friendly. But to the further parts, you have buses! They are not cheap per se but definitely cheaper than taxis. Just check with your reception and I'm sure most of them are glad to help you.
