Shoe Review: Nike Roshe Run

Have you heard or seen any of these highly raved kicks lately? Yes, Nike has come up with the comfiest shoe till date. The Roshe Run or Rosherun. Good thing about this is that it comes in a wide variety of gorgeous design (locally limited though), broad toe area for comfy wear, elevated heel and removeable insoles. I can literally walk hours in this.

Although I find that the design can be more narrow on the front for sleeker look, it absolutely is the comfiest sneakers I've ever worn. Beating out the Nike Air Max or New Balance 574. Adore the added height it gives me.

Price ranges from SGD$99 to $169
Buy it from Nike stores or Isetan Dept Store locally
Or online stores such as ASOS.com

Taobao Haul: First Shopping Experience!

Y'all know that China is the so-called "Factory of the World". I've always wanted to buy stuff from Taobao because the things are so cheap! But unfortunately my Chinese language skills is just so bad. So anyway, I tried using Google Translate (page) and 65daigou to get my stuff. And what do you know, my stuff reached me last night!

Here are the relatively good quality stuff that I bought. Those horrible quality ones I shall not mention.

The kimono jacket (S$13) feels so smooth and comfy! Almost like pyjamas wear. As for the swimwear (S$12), thank god it fits. Material-wise, feels like what a swimwear should feel like.

My cases (Mickey S$2, Milky S$2) for iPhone5s. Super adorbs!

Blown away by how gorgeous these necklaces are. (S$6 and S$4 each) And they wrapped it so well-protected. Need to order more!

Acrylic panel slingbag (S$9) is not too shabby. Good for casual wears!

Thoughts
I think it's a gamble to buy clothes and shoes from Taobao. The quality is just so bad for most of them. Also, because shipping is by weight, those lousy shoes cost you the bulk of the money. It is rather safe to buy accessories, bikinis, phone covers based on reviews online and on-site.

For the many items (15 in total) I bought, I had to pay S$37.08 for 4kg worth of stuff. I bought the 15 items for S$133. All in all, I think it's okay. Not that it's very cheap because you never know what quality of product you are receiving. Hence, maybe only about half of your stuff you'll end up liking.

Sweet Treats: Gelato In Italy!

Last month, I was in the motherland of pasta. Changed that, motherland of gelato.
OH HELL YEAH

My love for ice cream is at it's peak over in Italy. Everyday I need nothing but gelato. Yes, it's that serious. I'm also on a quest for trying the best gelato! Hence the #projectgelato on instagram.

ARE YOU READY?!

Top Left (Anti-clockwise): Grom Pistacchio + Flavour of the month (2.5Euros/Piccolo Cup), Vatican City Gelato, Blue Ice Cappuccino + Pistacchio, Grom Caffe + Pistacchio

Verdict:
Grom's flavours were all delectable! My ultimate flavour was the Caffe.
Next up, I did not note down which store this gelateria was called because I honestly didn't have much hope for random stores. This one was from the entrance towards St. Peter's. It's to the left of the street while you walk to St Peter's. Their Nocciola/Hazelnut is yummy!
Blue Ice's cappuccino and pistacchio is bad on all aspects. I've seen a couple of stores in Italy but nawh, I'm not gonna try further.

Top Left (Anti-clockwise): All Grom's! Crema di Grom, Caffe, Pistacchio, Fiordilatte

Verdict:
Crema di Grom is some sort like their cookies and cream. Nice flavour but not my absolute must-eat. Fiordilatte, however, was amazing! It means sweet milk/cream and it's better than plain o' vanilla?! I love this flavour with Caffe. PERFECT.

Top Left (Anti-clockwise): San Crispinos's Blue Mountain + Hazelnut, Edoardo Hazelnut + Fiordilatte, Pompi's Pistacchio (2Euros/Piccolo Size) + Hazelnut, Grom's Perfect Combo.

Verdict:
San Crispinos has many fruity flavours. Perhaps I didn't choose the best ones. But they tasted alright to me. Nothing mind-blowing good.
Edoardo's gelato is so-so as well, but their waffle is the bomb! Super love.
Pompi's Pistacchio + Hazelnut was something I had for 4 days straight in Rome! Says a lot about how awesome it is yeah? Hah.

_

All in all, hands-down to Grom. I can stay in their shop and just order flavours after flavours of gelato. Each one of them yummy! Go and eat all the gelatos!

Food Review: Chicken Up at Tanjong Pagar.

With the influx of Korean cuisine popping up and our love for Korean food apparently, we find ourselves heading to the fairly new establishment at Tanjong Pagar.

Chicken Up!

The Truffle Fries ($8) was very mediocre, it barely has the truffle taste. I had to spam lots of mustard sauce to enjoy it. I'm a huge truffle fries fan. And this sadly doesn't meet the mark of many others I've tried.

The highly raved Yangnyum Fried Chicken (Half; 4pcs at $22) was a disappointment. The sauce doesn't have much kick to it and the portion of the chicken was too big. With the sauce just covering just the outside of the chicken, there wasn't much taste to the meat. Thank god we ordered only 1 portion to try. I can't imagine going for the chicken buffet and stuffing our belly with these.

While it is famous for it's fried chicken, we find ourselves loving the Andong Chicken Stew (Half Portion at $33) best! Half portion is sufficient for 2pax to feel relatively full. Otherwise, it's enough for 4pax to try and share. The chicken chunks were oh-so-tender, the spicy broth super tasty and I love the glass noodles in them! Includes pieces of potato, carrots and toppoki! AWESOME.

Here comes the unique Watermelon Soju ($38) ! I've seen it in pictures before and it's our first trying it. While the drink is pretty nice, it's not chilled enough and way too pricey just for half a watermelon shell with it's juice and adding just a bottle of soju. I'll rather go have 2 cups of Starbucks or whatnot. Essentially, it's something you can do yourselves for a gathering. Buy cups of watermelon juice and bottles of soju. I guarantee it will cost you less that a fraction of that price.

All in all, it's an okay restaurant. I'll be back only for the Andong Chicken Stew and that's about it.
*There's a 20% early bird discount for those who finishes their meal before 7.30pm. Very good deal considering how expensive it is for such store in a shophouse.

Happy Birthday!

It's the time of the year again. On 14th December, yours truly turned 24! But feeling forever young still. I'm one year away from being a quarter of a century old. Thank you to everyone for the wishes and gifts. Friends, family and my baby. I love you'all.

Had an awesome dinner with him over at Rise; Marina Bays Sands! I only need one thing in my buffet, and that is fresh oysters. Really pleased with the quality of their seafood. After dinner, was presented my birthday present. Wanted this for quite a while. So thank you so much x.

Lots of love.

Solestruck: Black Friday Haul

Hello!

As I've mentioned earlier if I did manage to score awesome buys from the Black Friday Sale, I'll be doing a post on it. And I did!

Almost every Black Friday, the one and only store I look out for is Solestruck. Undeniably they are the fairy-god mother of shoes. This round, it was an awesome buy of shoes at ridiculous prices! I got 2 pairs of Superga, 2 pairs of Y.R.U and 1 pair of Jeffrey Campbell.

First thing first, they all fit perfect. The greatest tip is to read the description and reviews. Down size or up size your shoe depending on it! I'm at size 9/ eur39. But for all of the above, I got them in size 8 (except JC size 8.5) And they all fit perfect!

Solestruck delivery is the best. The shoes came in less than 5 days! I've never received international parcel that fast before. And theirs wins hands down.

I've worn only the Jeffrey Campbell Audrey Spikes so far out of these. They did hurt and the back and at the sides of my feet. But the shoe is really a statement piece and is so flattering in photos! So I might just kill my feet again with these shoes.

Scroll down for the photos! Shoe-gasm anyone?

And, that's all folks!

Not long after, I collected my Nasty Gal parcel with 3 more pairs of shoes. *ineedtoburymyheadsomewhere

Food: Supply & Demand

Last Sunday saw us dining at Supply and Demand over at the Esplanade. I really love the cosy, interesting concept of the restaurant! Quaint and comforting. S/D also boasts a rooftop bar! Perfect for people who wants to chill. The indoors of the restaurant is a little dark though. So you may want to sit closer to the windows during lunch or early dinner.

We had Garlic Truffle Fries, Prosciutto Di Parma Thin Pizza, Shrimp Aglio Olio E Peperoncino, Roasted Chicken and Molten Lava Cake. Highlights were the pasta and fries. I enjoyed both! Truffle fries are thick and juicy. Pasta's shrimps are huge and crunchy. The main menu only boast majority pastas and pizzas. Risotto lovers, sorry wrong place. But I reckon their other pastas are awesome too!
