NYFW: 3.1 Phillip Lim S/S 14

images from style.com

One of the show I'm dying to see is the 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring/Summer 14 collection. And he doesn't disappoints! This season, the use of Geodes is refreshing unlike the usual shapes and florals for spring. Geodes are those rocklike mineral formations that split open to reveal swirls of many-hued crystal. I love the theme for this season. It somewhat feels like a "Stylish Explorer" theme to me. Earth-tones, patchwork, various textures and fluid silhouette runs the show. I wonder how does he come up with such intriguing designs. It's just amazing.

Karen Walker Spring RTW 14 collection is filled with sportswear, sweaters, trousers, pinks and orange hues. These above are my favourite looks! It has the hippie college girl look that I adore. Even though it is a spring collection, the designer takes on smart layering with light-weight fabrics on the coats and jackets.

NYFW: Edun S/S 14

Yet another collection with plenty of white. But this is done with an edge. Edun Spring Summer 14 looks are complete in every way. I love the use of slits and weave in the collection. In addition, sheer fabric and layering are being seen here. Major love for the loose dress and handwoven skirt with burgundy panels. So stylish. Every look is wearable!

NYFW: Delpozo S/S 14

Up and coming Madrid-based label, Delpozo made a splash of colours at NYFW this season. With florals and pastel tones, the atmosphere of the collection is nothing short of summer. This collection also features, intricate embellishments, statement-making silhouettes as well as a good balance with volumes. Personal favourite is the lilac dress with floral graphics. It gives me a fushion mix of oriental look. Love it!

NYFW: Coral, White and Black

TIBI S/S 14

If there is one thing so far I've noticed, it will be that white, black and orange-coral palette seems to be popping up quite a bit! Also, sportswear is MAJOR too. I wonder if more would come by. We'll just have to see. Meanwhile, I really do adore Tibi S/S 14 looks. I love the simplicity of it all with a hint of skin or a splash of colour. Those updated "track pants" just makes me want to go get one now.

NYFW: Alexander Wang S/S 14

images from style.com

As you would know, New York Fashion Week has just kicked off recently and I'm so excited to see what's in stall for us fashion-hungry people.

One of my favourite show so far is the Alexander Wang Spring Summer 14 collection. I like how he is always able to reinterpret sportswear and this time round, it is a whole lot sexier. I like the flare panel shorts, the cut-out tee and the collar shirts in particular. It is just so versatile to mix and match with anything in your wardrobe. It feels like there is elements of tennis wear with the pleated skirts and collar shirts. Also, there are elements of sleepwear-inspired pieces with the stripe shorts seen above. I guess this particular past season trend is set to carry forward this season? We shall see! Accessories wise, it's that trusty big clutch bag that every woman wants. I also like the rubber mary-jane pumps in pastel colours. So adorable and it looks really good! All in all, it is definitely a collection to remember with clean cuts and wearable chic pieces.

One of the perfect examples to the saying,"Less is more."

Flashback Runway: 3.1 Philip Lim S/S 2013

images from style.com

3.1 Philip Lim made me his brand-enthusiast ever since the launch of the, adorable yet chic, pashli satchels. So it is literally a must to view his every season collection. 3.1 Phillip Lim S/S 13 collection turned out to be one mix and match show. I love how the collection looks more like a street style get-go than a "runway" runway show. Also love the idea of "cut-up".

Words from Style.com "Effectively, cut-up is a stratagem for nonlinearity: Write a ten-word sentence, pick out five of those words at random, and then reassemble them in an arbitrary order. Voilà. "

One could extract ideas of styling from this show. Take for example, layering a crochet crop top over a sheer plaid blouse. I like it a lot! And those caged shoes, they look totally badass.

Flashback Runway: Proenza Schouler S/S 13

photos from style.com

I'm thoroughly impressed by the works of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. To create a collection with a mix of organic and technology is such a wonderful feast for the eyes. I also adore how the prints and textures are done in a collage and graphic way. Personal favourite will have to be the digital print dresses. It looks so picturesque! It reminds of Mary Katrantzou's signature digital prints. Except in the case of Proenza Schouler, they took it up a notch with rivets/studs-like things on it. I do also fancy the gypsy dresses. It has a relaxed, flowy look with a hint of toughness, all thanks to the details on it.

Flashback Runway: Victoria Beckham S/S 2013

First up, I do know that S/S 14 is about to be shown in major fashion cities. But here I am still reminiscing the good old ones. Here we have Victoria Beckham's Spring Summer 2013. I have absolute respect for this woman hands down. I mean, to go from a singer to a fashion designer? And to establish such a strong branding, is an amazing feat.

I personally adore the colour palette here. Orange-red, black and white are such contrasting hues and it brings the whole collection together. I love how it has that sort of sportswear/minimalistic design to this collection. Honestly, I would wear all of these out. It's just clean chic.

Check out the details from the runway!

Pop of Blue

I love my blues. It's actually not my favourite colour from the colour wheel. But I just have the urge to buy my threads in blue, especially navy. So here are the boys looking hot in blue. In chic knitwear and patterns, the look is anything but boring. Loving the last photo too much!

Checkered light-blue gingham poncho, check. Checkered rolled-up shorts, check. Lavender shade loafers, check. The look is too adorable and oh-so-fun.

Oriental Opulence

The favourites of the batch. The high low leather skirt is the fave. Oriental and leather is way too chic.

Wonderful layering, colourful brights, smart neutrals and a carefree look to it. Isn't it what Spring Summer is all about? Loving these Robert Geller's collections much. I love the hippie look most!
