Chillin Thursday

Wearing T-shirt dress with keyhole back
upcoming collection from ShopUnbound.com
-
Zalora global ankle boots, F21 & Nasty gal accessories,
Topshop suede fedora, Club21 Quay mirror shades

Dinner at Rakuzen on Thursday night was extraordinary, or maybe I was just too hungry. The deco at Rakuzen is pretty cosy and zen. Love the ceiling's wallpaper much. We ordered sukiyaki set, sushi roll, inaniwa udon, daikon salad, avocado salad, ebi tempura and agedeshi tofu for 3 pax. (rest of food photos are not in due to photo quality) That is a lot of food! But we finished it all. The quality of the food is good! I find most of the dishes yummy. A good place to go. Salad is in huge portion and is fresh.

After that was movie night!

Shoe-Struck: Jeffrey Campbell Aubrey

I love my shoes and I love them high. Anyone close to me knows my obsession with Jeffrey Campbell. It has the most amazing shoes, I don't need no Christian Louboutins I'm telling you. So here I have my new Jeffrey Campbell Aubrey in Blue Mermaid from Solestruck. It really does have the sort of mermaid texture, I love it!

It feels amazing when I put it on. It is pretty sturdy especially with the ankle straps so it's pretty easy to walk in. Though I think Litas are the longest-lasting shoe for me still. I'm a size 9 for my JC Litas from Solestruck but I downsize for this to size 8. Make sure to try the shoes you are buying if you have a retail store that stocks JCs. Based on experience, some shoe's sizing varies.

I do love the patent black Aubrey that I saw when I was in Bangkok Villians. But it's not on site anymore! Okay till next time when I feature more shoes/ buy more shoes/ have shoe lust *o.m.g

A Trip To Silent Hill

Apparently I'm not suppose to "dress up" for this short trip.
So here is my attempt at not dressing up.

Nasty gal arm accessories and pastel bomber jacket, Myth biker jacket, Topshop tie-around, rainbow shades from Quay eyewear courtesy of Club21 and everything else studs and spikes. I guess.

I spent 3D2N in misty cold weather and I must say I do enjoy it! Sometimes it gets so bad that the nearest thing I can see is perhaps less than 1m ahead of me. It must be a joke, but it is not. There was an outdoor theme park there and I did enjoyed myself! I played the "Spinner" pictured above. I've seen it in photos several times before and it is more fun than it looks! Spins pretty fast and high. Love it. The other one was the Space Rocket. The one that shots up and brings you straight to the ground. Oh man, it really is the ultimate thrill ride ever. I've played the one at Dreamworld Gold Coast and it is, till date, the scariest ride for me. But I would do it in a heartbeat anytime. #thrillridesftw

Flashback Runway: Proenza Schouler S/S 13

photos from style.com

I'm thoroughly impressed by the works of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. To create a collection with a mix of organic and technology is such a wonderful feast for the eyes. I also adore how the prints and textures are done in a collage and graphic way. Personal favourite will have to be the digital print dresses. It looks so picturesque! It reminds of Mary Katrantzou's signature digital prints. Except in the case of Proenza Schouler, they took it up a notch with rivets/studs-like things on it. I do also fancy the gypsy dresses. It has a relaxed, flowy look with a hint of toughness, all thanks to the details on it.

Flashback Runway: Victoria Beckham S/S 2013

First up, I do know that S/S 14 is about to be shown in major fashion cities. But here I am still reminiscing the good old ones. Here we have Victoria Beckham's Spring Summer 2013. I have absolute respect for this woman hands down. I mean, to go from a singer to a fashion designer? And to establish such a strong branding, is an amazing feat.

I personally adore the colour palette here. Orange-red, black and white are such contrasting hues and it brings the whole collection together. I love how it has that sort of sportswear/minimalistic design to this collection. Honestly, I would wear all of these out. It's just clean chic.

Check out the details from the runway!

Topshop Haul!
At Central Shinjuku

So I started feeling sick when we arrived at Shinjuku. But nothing was stopping me from having Laduree. I was having no appetite whatsoever but yes, MUST ORDER something. So there you go, my dessert from the Shinjuku Laduree outlet. The interior is nothing extraordinary, head to Laduree Ginza if you want a fab environment!

Shinjuku has got to be my favourite city "city". I love the layout of the places and it is less confusing than Shibuya. Partly because I walked the whole area in circles and circles while looking for my "To Go Places". Hence I stumbled upon Topshop! It's just my favourite high-street brand of all times. Managed to get 2 high waisted denim, 1 neon backpack, 1 huge-brim fedora and 1 eye-makeup set. Happy much.

Day 2 Tokyo, Japan - Sushi Heaven

Tokyo Day 2

All set for sushi at Tsukiji Fish Market. After googling everything about Tokyo, this is the place to be for your plate of unforgettable fresh fish. Upon reaching, the queue for the notorious Sushi Dai and Sushi Daiwa was epic. Settled for Sushi Dai and we queued for 2 hours under the sun! But it was all worth it in the end. Please bring a fan and brolly along if you are visiting in summer. I'm not kidding about the weather at all.

Visuals below!

These are some of the Omakase set that I ate. Pricey (at 3,900yen) but so delicious. The rice is warm and the fish are so fresh! Oh yes, the chef is such a entertainer. I was amused half the time I was there. The marinated tuna is my favourite of all.

1 World Music Festival

ARE YOU READY?

Get ready for the 1 World Music Festival that is all set to knock your socks off.

Date: 20th, 21st September 2013
Venue: Marina Barrage
Time: 6pm till late

_

The 1 World Music Festival: electrifying music performances set to the skyline of the Marina Barrage. With a lineup of stars including Tinie Tempah, Far East Movement, Orbital (live), Infected Mushroom (live), Yuna, Iggy Azalea, Taboo (DJ Set), Sub Focus + ID, Pendulum + Verse and Cosmic Gate, with many more! This will be THE music event to be at over the Grand Prix Season Singapore weekend.

Looking at the line-up (click here), it is definitely THE event of the year for any hardcore music fan. The names that caught my attention are Far East Movement, Tinie Tempah, Yuna, Cosmic Gate, Cobra Starships and Taboo (The Black Eye Peas). Honestly, WHAT A MIX OF GENRE!?!?

I WANT TO CATCH ALL THE PERFORMANCE!

Okay, the line-up here is.... basically guaranteed to satisfy all of your music buds.

My personal favourite act of the moment (so hard to choose) would be the Far East Movement!
Some info of them below.

Electronic pop-rap group Far East Movement made their major-label debut in 2010. Founded in 2003, the group was originally a trio comprised of high-school companions Kev Nish (born Kevin Nishimura), Prohgress (James Roh), and J-Splif, all of whom had grown up in downtown Los Angeles. DJ Virman joined the lineup a few years later. After touring overseas as the opening act of Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour and hitting the studio with the Stereotypes (the producers credited with "Girls on the Dancefloor"), Far East Movement made their major-label debut with "Like a G6," which topped the U.S. singles charts during the summer of 2010 and went either gold or platinum in four countries. The song, along with the Top Ten follow-up "Rocketeer" (featuring Ryan Tedder), appeared on Free Wired, the band's major-label debut, which was released later in the year. Dirty Bass followed in 2012, with the Justin Bieber collaboration "Live My Life" issued as the lead single.

I know I know. It is so not my typical all time favourite bands but have you heard "The Illest"?! It is such a sick (in a good way) song! I can't get it out of my head and it's on repeat at least 20 times a day on my list. I really hope they perform this song on 1 World Music Festival! check out the video here for "The Illest"!

SO GOOD.

And also their other tracks!

///

I have even come up with my 1 World Music Festival outfit. *yes, can't believe it

AND SO....

I cannot wait to catch 1 World Music Festival with Nuffnang!

I really really REALLY want this. So send me to 1 World Music Festival? *puppy eyes

Sorry for the short hiatus. I've been busy lately! I haven't even unpack all of my Japan luggage. So yes, that is the horrid state of how busy I am. So well, I just finished my short course just yesterday and had a little chat with my assessor. I've never been more glad that I left my previous industry for fashion. Fashion is not just something "Oh I like fashion because it is nice and so fun." But to me it's more like "I want to know more more and more of fashion." Not just the clothing aspect but also the designers, the trends, the styling, what's happening in the fashion world etc. Hence the feedback she gave to me was that I should continue doing what I'm doing because she can see that my knowledge for fashion is there and the passion/interest for it. Okay, I can die happy now. Kidding. Because right now, all I want is to win that competition. It's a must. I love doing it and I will win it. xoxo
